The early morning visit, after wearing a new pair* of ortho-k lenses for the first night, is essential. It has to be within 2 hours after awakening to allow your practitioner to assess for any adverse corneal response to the lenses.

If the lenses are appropriate for your child after the first overnight visit, your practitioner would schedule visits 1 week, 2 weeks and 1 month after lens wear to monitor treatment stabilization.

After treatment stabilization (normally within 1 month), your practitioner should schedule 3-monthly visits for your child to monitor ortho-k effect and corneal integrity.
